ENERGETIC HYGIENE

Energy is everything. Truly, EVERYTHING! We are all made up of energy and are so much more than our appearance. Beyond our physical bodies we also have an energetic body, one that interacts with the world around us just as our physical body and senses do.


The energetic body can be affected by various factors such as stress, negative emotions, and other people’s energy, which is why energetic hygiene is so important. Energetic hygiene is both a practice and set of exercises that help to maintain the health and balance of the energetic body.




What is the Energetic Body?

The energetic body is made up of several layers that surround the body, each with its own unique frequency. These layers include the etheric body, emotional body, mental body and spiritual body.


The etheric body is the closest layer to the physical body and is responsible for the flow of vital energy or life force energy, also known as prana or chi.


The emotional body is the layer responsible for our emotional experiences.


The mental body is responsible for our thoughts and beliefs.


The spiritual body is the highest layer and is said to be connected to our highest self or spiritual essence.


The energetic body affects our physical bodies and so the health of our energetic body is equally as important for our physical health and mental health.



Energetic Cleansing Practices

  1. Grounding - Grounding is a practice that helps to connect us to the earth's energy and can help to release any excess energy that we may have accumulated.

  2. Setting Boundaries - Setting boundaries is important in maintaining our energetic hygiene as it helps us to protect our energy from others' negative influences.

  3. Aura Cleansing - The aura is an energetic field that surrounds our physical body and is composed of different layers. It can be affected by negative emotions, stress, and other people's energy. Cleansing your aura can help to remove any negative energy that may have accumulated in it, thus restoring its balance. It’s important to cleanse your aura regularly, there are several ways to cleanse your aura:

  4. Aura Cleansing Meditation

  5. Smudging with sage

  6. Taking a salt bath

  7. Practicing Mindfulness - Practicing mindfulness can help us to become more aware of our thoughts and emotions and can help us to prevent negative energy from accumulating in our energetic body.

  8. Moving Your Body - This is one of the most important practices for me, when we move we move the energy in our bodies. There are so many ways we can move our bodies to help move the stagnant energy, dancing being a favorite. Dancing can help release energy, especially when we need to release some anger or get an instant mood boost.

  9. EFT tapping - This is has so many benefits in and of itself but EFT tapping with the intention and affirmations of cleansing your energy can be extremely powerful.

  10. Body Tapping + Brushing - I like to form a fist and firmly pound on my body while deep breathing. Moving from the chest to the armpit, down the arms and legs. I do this while envisioning myself breaking up any stagnant energy and then brushing it all away with my hands.

  11. Dry Brushing - This technique, while also amazing for your lymphatic system and draining, is also great for energetic cleansing. Especially when used with intention!

  12. Cleanse Your Space - Energy is everything, and that also means your space. What does your room look like? How is your laundry? What does your bathroom look like? Cleanse your space can also help remove dense energy! (Wash your sheets and bedding!!)

  13. Water Magic - Water is a powerful, powerful tool! Speaking affirmations into your water and drinking it is a great tool. Also taking baths where you have infused your intention into the water, tell her your affirmations, speak to her with love and soak in the magic, allow her to wash away any energy that is not yours and cleanse your aura fully.



Energetic hygiene is a vital practice that helps to maintain the health and balance of our energetic body which translates to our mental health, affects our manifesting and quality of our journey. When we integrate these practices into our daily lives, and upkeep our energetic body, we remain more healthy, authentically aligned and energetically balanced.
